My name is Els van de Burgt, and I have been living in Alberta, Canada since 2005, which is a very beautiful country. Before that, I enjoyed living in the Netherlands for many years. I am married and have two fantastic children. My goal is to enable other people to get as much pleasure from working with Peel-Off stickers as I have gotten over the years.
In the Netherlands, I worked for many years with various companies in the hobby sector. I worked as a manager for Pipoos in Amersfoort, after which I did fieldwork for about 9 years for Bruynzeel-Sakura. Due to this last job, I worked quite intensively with Peel-Off stickers, which makes a nice combination with the gel pens. Since I moved to Canada, I have been working as a freelancer, and one of my activities is designing Peel-Off stickers. I also do demonstration work at various hobby fairs in the US and Canada, write magazine articles now and then, and do training sessions in various stores here in Canada. My work demonstrating at hobby fairs and training hobbyists in stores brings me into contact with all the various ‘layers’ of people in the hobby world: producers, salespeople, purchasers, and finally - the most important link in the chain - the consumer. I find this a very enjoyable combination.
I hope to design a great many more fascinating Peel-Off stickers, which can then be used as a basis for a great variety of beautiful and creative objects.
