> Peel-Off Techniques

Go to “Peel-Off Projects” in the menu to find more specific applications for these techniques.

Cutting

When you cut out the Peel-Offs using a scissor or blade, make sure you cut at an angle under the edge of the sticker. The edge will then not look frayed and will remain intact.

Markers

You can use the special Peel-Off markers for colouring in the Peel-Off itself, resulting in a beautifully coloured or metallic effect. Colour in the design as you wish on the backing sheet, allow it to dry for a few seconds, and then remove the Peel-Off from the backing sheet.

Coloured cardboard

The Peel-Off can be glued onto coloured cardboard and then cut out and used to decorate a card. You can also use cardboard of different colours to fill in various parts of the design.

Pencil / Felt-tips

You can also colour in the Peel-Offs by simply using coloured pencils and/or felt-tips. Just glue the Peel-Off onto paper or cardboard and colour the design in as you wish.

Gel pens

Gel pens are already available in various types, including Glaze (transparent), Soufflé (masking), Moonlight and Stardust. These pens allow you to quickly and easily colour in the Peel-Off designs.
When doing so, make sure to fill in the areas evenly and not to exert too much pressure on the pen.

Watercolour pencils

Use a wet brush to take up some colour from the tip of the pencil before using the brush to colour in the desired area.
If you accidentally colour in the wrong area, simply rinse the brush clean and then use the wet brush to absorb the colour mistakenly applied to the Peel-Off.When using this technique, make sure the cardboard you are using is thick enough and can absorb sufficient moisture. After colouring in whatever you like, allow it to dry out while being laid out flat.

Paint on canvas

You can also colour in the Peel-Off's by using paint on canvas. Best results are obtained with 3-D paint. By distributing the paint evenly inside and outside the contours of the figure, you can obtain a three-dimensional effect.

Magic tape

After you remove the Peel-Off from the backing sheet, the so-called ‘negative patterns’ remain behind on the sheet. You can use these to make another card, to create new shapes, or you can glue them back into the ‘positive image’. For removing the negative patterns which remain behind on the sheet, you should use the Magic Tape.

Sticky Shapes

Sticky Shapes are double-sided adhesive Peel-Offs which can be coloured using glitters or deco foil.

Embroiding

Before you can embroider on paper, you must first punch holes within the outlines of the figure using a punch pen. Make the holes at about 1.5 to 2 mm from the edges of the sticker. When making the holes, you should take into account any bends and twists in the figure in order to ensure that none of the embroidery threads end up crossing the sticker edges.
You can also combine beadwork embroidery techniques with Peel-Offs. Punch holes at about 2 mm from each other, and connect the beads to each other within a particular section of the Peel-Off design or use the beads to highlight various elements of the design.

3D

You can use 3-D Peel-Offs to obtain three-dimensional effects. These are specially made to be used in layers. First you glue the various coloured-in patterns onto paper. Then you cut them out and glue the various layers onto each other with 3-D glue.

Making borders

If you wish to make a border around a map, outline a square using a sticker line, or put an edge around a passepartout, you can use various Peel-Off lines and patterns. But it's even easier to use pre-shaped Peel-Off borders, whereby the corners have already been bevelled off beforehand.
However, if you prefer to make your own border, then make sure the sticker lines overlap a bit in the corners. Cut along the corner line holding the knife at an angle and apply pressure to the knife until it cuts through the sticker lines. Carefully remove the superfluous line elements, and you will see that the corners are neatly finished.

Scrapbook

Peel-Off techniques are of course also particularly well-suited for adding decorative elements of your own to your traditional scrapbook.

Black / white

When using the black / white technique, half of a black Peel-Off pattern is combined with its white mirror image Peel-Off pattern.
